Luma Café event was created to give teachers more information on LUMA Activities. We listened to a presentation by Professor Maija Aksela, who had just finished writing a book about Luma Center, including history. We all received a copy of the book, titled New Solutions and Pedagogical Innovations to Teaching from Early Childhood Education to Higher Education. This was my translation from the cover of the book. Let see what the real title is when they publish the book in English.
After that we listened to a talk by Terry Lyons.
The Science Education Center at the University of Helsinki invited Terry to talk to teachers of different disciplines. His talk explored the pedagogical innovations of science education developed on the basis of the latest research data. Terry is and Assistant Professor of Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. He highlighted the prospects for science and technology education in Australia. Three Fulbright Awardees were present, Sam Northern, Maya Kaul and I.
