In this workshop we used the EYESTwz Photonicx explorer kit. The kit is produced in Germany. The instructor attended a workshop in Germany
and translated the manuals into Finnish. Each teacher who attended this workshop received this kit to be used in the classroom.

1. WE performed 6 different experiments. First
experiment using optics wire. 3 colors
and alphabets. Make a code. The light travels through a wire.
Each letter gets a number….. green =1, red is 10, blue is
break or could be blue.

The secret
of Rainbow colors CD and different
colored transparencies. Look colors
through the transparent.

The path of a light. Different lenses. Shine he three colors
through the lenses and see when it gets sharp.

Make a kaukoputki ( binoculars) using
two of the lenses. Galileo -+ Kepler ++

Polarization. Three different screens on top of each
other. The amount of light getting
through is different. Build a
polarization meter. First with plain
water and sugar water. How does
polarization change with the concentration of sugar. Turn the film and find an angle when you don’t
see the light.

Laser. To measure the thickness of a
hair. Light-Measuring nanometers. Tape your hair against lazer ligh. Measure
the distance from lazer light to sharp image abut ½ meter away. Measure the length of lazer light. Divide distance with the length of lazer ligh
times 660, the length of lazer light.
7.
Build a spectrophotometer. Cut photo from instructions. Cut out the tree shaped white triangle. Put tape on the back. Set a light.
Focus until you see blue light, mark
on a ruler the distance, next green spectrum, mark on a ruler,
